Method
- Gather all your ingredients and preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the French bread slices on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes, until golden and slightly crispy.
- Combine diced tomatoes, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Toss gently to coat.
- Remove the bread from the oven. Rub each slice with the cut side of the garlic clove for a hint of garlic aroma.
- Spoon the tomato-basil mixture evenly over each toasted bread slice.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil leaves if desired.
