- Gather all ingredients.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin or line with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
