Ingredients
  

  • 1 large head cabbage cored and finely shredded
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, toss the shredded cabbage and sliced onion until evenly combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss gently to coat every strand.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to let flavors meld.
  5. Give the slaw a final toss before serving alongside grilled meats, burgers, or as a refreshing picnic side.
