Ingredients

  • 1 15.25 ounce package devil's food cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 14 ounce jar caramel sauce
  • 8 ounces whipped topping thawed
  • 1 cup chocolate-covered toffee bits
  • ½ cup chopped pecans optional

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the devil's food cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  5. Slowly pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake, allowing it to seep into every crevice.
  6. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly over the surface.
  7. Spread whipped topping into an even layer on the cooled cake.
  8. Sprinkle chocolate-covered toffee bits and chopped pecans (if using) on top.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
