- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, whisk together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Pat chicken breasts dry. Evenly rub the spice mix all over each piece.
- Heat butter or oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Sear chicken 2–3 minutes per side, forming a dark, flavorful crust.
- Transfer seared chicken to the prepared baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let rest 5 minutes before slicing to lock in juices.
