BLT

This BLT uses an easy, no-frills recipe for the classic American sandwich made with crisp bacon, lettuce, and tomato on toasted bread with mayonnaise.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 slices of your favorite bread
  • 2 leaves romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 2 slices ripe tomato
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook the bacon until crisp, about 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.
  3. While the bacon cooks, toast the bread slices until golden brown.
  4. Spread mayo evenly on each slice of toasted bread. Season tomato slices with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. Layer lettuce, tomato, and bacon on one slice of bread. Top with the second slice.
  6. Slice the sandwich in half on the diagonal and serve immediately.
