Method
- In a large bowl, combine 4 cups flour and 1 cup salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add 1.5 cups warm water, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Roll the dough to about 1/4″ thickness; use cookie cutters to create festive shapes.
- Poke a small hole at the top of each ornament to thread ribbon through later.
- Preheat your oven to 325 °F (165 °C). Arrange ornaments on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, flipping halfway through, until dry and hard.
- Allow ornaments to cool completely before decorating with paint, glitter, or markers.
