Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup mustard

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and mustard until smooth and glossy.
  2. If the glaze is too thick, stir in a little extra mustard, one teaspoon at a time, until you reach your ideal consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust the sweetness or tanginess by adding more brown sugar or mustard as desired.
  4. Brush the glaze over a fully cooked ham during the last 20–30 minutes of baking, reapplying every 10 minutes for a caramelized finish.
  5. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before carving and serve with any leftover glaze as a dipping sauce.
