Ingredients

  • 1 8 ounce bone-in fully cooked ham steak
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Method

  1. Gather all your ingredients and have them measured and ready to go.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the ham steak to the dry skillet.
  3. Cook the ham steak for 3-4 minutes on each side until it begins to brown slightly.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and add the butter to the pan, allowing it to melt completely.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the ham steak.
  6. Continue cooking for 3-4 minutes, occasionally spooning the melting sugar and butter mixture over the ham.
  7. Flip the ham steak and cook for another 2-3 minutes, continuing to baste with the glaze until the sugar has caramelized and formed a sticky, golden coating.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
