- Gather all your ingredients and have them measured and ready to go.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the ham steak to the dry skillet.
- Cook the ham steak for 3-4 minutes on each side until it begins to brown slightly.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and add the butter to the pan, allowing it to melt completely.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the ham steak.
- Continue cooking for 3-4 minutes, occasionally spooning the melting sugar and butter mixture over the ham.
- Flip the ham steak and cook for another 2-3 minutes, continuing to baste with the glaze until the sugar has caramelized and formed a sticky, golden coating.
- Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
