- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 5×9-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of brown sugar until evenly distributed—this keeps the meat loaf moist.
- Press the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shaping it evenly.
- In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup and remaining brown sugar. Spread the glaze over the top of the loaf.
- Bake uncovered for 50 minutes, then brush with extra glaze and bake 10–15 minutes more, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before slicing. This helps juices redistribute.
