Caramel-Swirled M&M Cookie Bars

These gooey cookie bars feature a tender vanilla dough laced with mini M&M’s and a caramel swirl—baked in a pan for fast prep and delicious results.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • cups mini M&M’s candies
  • ½ cup good-quality caramel sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed until light, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt; add to butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in 1 cup mini M&M’s; transfer half the dough to pan and press into a layer.
  6. Drizzle half the caramel, top with remaining dough, swirl in remaining caramel, and sprinkle with the rest of the M&M’s.
  7. Bake 20–22 minutes, cool completely, then chill before slicing into bars.
