- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1/2 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of your prepared baking dish, creating an even layer.
- Arrange the seasoned apple slices evenly over the bottom crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the apples, covering them completely.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving to let the filling set slightly.
