Ingredients
Method
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 3-4 minutes until it starts to brown, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
- Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Continue cooking until the vegetables have softened and the beef is fully cooked through, about 3-5 more minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Drain excess fat if necessary (this depends on how lean your ground beef is).
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika to the skillet. Stir to combine everything thoroughly.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer the mixture for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken to the perfect consistency.
- Serve the sloppy joe mixture generously on hamburger buns and enjoy!
