Deep-fried Oreos are a state fair favorite! The cookies are dipped into an easy pancake batter and fried till golden, delicious, and irresistible.

Ingredients
  

  • 30 Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and preheat a deep fryer or large saucepan filled with vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Crack in the egg and pour in the milk; whisk until smooth and lump-free.
  4. Working one at a time, dip each Oreo into the pancake batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Carefully lower battered cookies into the hot oil using a slotted spoon. Fry for 2–3 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.
  6. Remove to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Dust generously with powdered sugar while still warm.
