- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the melted butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and swirl to coat the bottom evenly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Pour in the milk and stir until you have a smooth batter—no lumps!
- Carefully spoon the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir; the batter will rise above the butter layer as it bakes.
- Evenly distribute the cherry pie filling on top of the batter. You can add a few fresh cherries for an extra pop of flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbling at the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
