Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole

This chicken noodle casserole made with shredded chicken and pasta in an easy creamy sauce is topped with melted mozzarella for a family favorite.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 10.5 oz condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 1/2 cup toasted breadcrumbs optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, parsley, pepper, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Add cooked noodles, shredded chicken, and sautéed onions to the bowl. Stir until everything is coated in the creamy sauce.
  6. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and breadcrumbs evenly on top.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
