Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Place ground beef and onion in a large saucepan over medium heat; cook and stir until meat is browned and onion is tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese or sour cream.
