- Spray a large saucepan with cooking spray and warm over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the frozen baby lima beans and pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until beans are tender, 35 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper before serving.
