Ingredients

  • 4 large portobello mushroom caps cleaned and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil divided (plus more if needed)
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or thyme

Method

  1. Heat 1½ tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

  4. Drizzle balsamic vinegar and the remaining oil over the mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper, then cook an additional minute to let flavors meld.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh herbs, and plate immediately for maximum flavor.
