- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined and smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until a soft dough forms.
- Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Optional: Press the tops with a glass dipped in sugar for extra sparkle.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are just golden and the centers are set.
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
