Ingredients
  

  • 1 9 inch unbaked pie crust
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt until smooth and pale.
  3. Stir in the flour to form a velvety paste.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and vanilla extract until lump-free.
  5. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F and bake 40 more minutes, or until set.
  7. Cool on a wire rack, then refrigerate before slicing.
