Ingredients
  

  • 2 8-inch white cake layers, baked and cooled
  • 1 package 3.4 oz instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 quart fresh berries strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and chill the glass bowl in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the vanilla pudding: whisk pudding mix with cold milk until thickened, then refrigerate.
  3. In a chilled bowl, whip the cream with sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  4. Slice each cake layer into cubes or strips for easy layering.
  5. Assemble the trifle: place a layer of cake cubes at the bottom, top with half of the vanilla pudding, then a layer of mixed berries.
  6. Spread half of the whipped cream over the berries and repeat the cake, pudding, berries, and whipped cream layers.
  7. Garnish the top with extra berries and a sprig of mint for color.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
  9. Serve chilled and enjoy every bite of this refreshing trifle.
