Green Mountain Stack Sandwich

Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices hearty sourdough or country white bread
  • 2 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
  • 1 ounce sharp Vermont Cheddar sliced
  • 3 ounces roasted turkey breast thinly sliced
  • 4 thin apple slices Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 tablespoon honey-mustard sauce

Method
 

  1. Spread butter on the outside of each bread slice.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer Cheddar, turkey, apple slices, and honey-mustard.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
  5. Grill for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently until cheese melts and bread is golden.
  6. Remove, let rest 1 minute, then slice on the diagonal and serve immediately.
