Grilled Marinated Shrimp

A simple shrimp marinade made with lemon, garlic, parsley, and hot sauce adds flavor to juicy shrimp grilled on skewers for a great summer meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, parsley, hot sauce, salt, and pepper to create the shrimp marinade.
  2. Place the cleaned shrimp in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the shrimp, seal the bag, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  3. Remove shrimp from the refrigerator 15 minutes before grilling to bring to room temperature. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F).
  4. Thread 5–6 shrimp onto each skewer. Grill for 2–3 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink and slightly charred.
  5. Remove skewers from the grill, let rest for a minute, then serve with lemon wedges, rice, or grilled vegetables.
