  • 1-2 tablespoons unsulfured molasses 1 Tbsp for light brown sugar, 2 Tbsp for dark brown sugar

Method
 

  1. Gather your ingredients. Measure out your white sugar and molasses.
  2. Place the white sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Pour the molasses over the sugar.
  3. Using an electric mixer on low speed, beat the mixture until the molasses is completely incorporated into the sugar and no white grains remain visible. This usually takes 3-5 minutes.
  4. Check consistency. The finished brown sugar should be uniformly colored and slightly moist.
