- Gather all your ingredients and chill your ice cream maker bowl if required.
- In a large bowl, whisk together half-and-half, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s directions (usually 20–25 minutes).
- Transfer the soft ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Scoop and serve plain or top with fresh berries, hot fudge, or caramel sauce.
