Placing bacon in a cold oven as it heats to 425°F is an easy and convenient way to cook crisp, fatty strips of pork for your morning breakfast.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 16 ounce package thick-cut bacon

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) with a rack in the center position.
  2. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with two overlapping sheets of aluminum foil, folding up the edges to catch drips.
  3. Arrange bacon strips in a single layer on the prepared sheet, leaving small gaps for even air circulation.
  4. Slide the pan onto the middle rack. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the bacon is golden-brown and edges are crisp.
  5. Carefully remove the sheet and transfer bacon to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess fat before serving.
