Joy's Easy Banana Bread

This banana bread is quick and easy to prepare with ripe bananas and basic pantry staples. You may want to double the recipe — it disappears fast!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until almost smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then gently fold in the flour until just blended.
  5. If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
