Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground turkey preferably not extra lean for best moisture
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup buttery cracker crumbs like Ritz
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until well blended.
  3. To the wet mixture, add the cracker crumbs, onion, garlic, Italian herbs, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the ground turkey to the bowl. Using clean hands or a wooden spoon, gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing as this can make the meatloaf tough.
  5. Transfer the meat mixture to your prepared baking sheet or loaf pan. Shape into a loaf approximately 9x5 inches if using a baking sheet.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together all glaze ingredients until smooth.
  7. Spread about ⅔ of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf, reserving the remainder.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  9. After 45 minutes, brush the meatloaf with the reserved glaze and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Remove from the oven and let the turkey meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute throughout the loaf.
