Korean BBQ Sauce

This homemade Korean BBQ sauce is easy to make with brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and Korean gochujang chili paste for a fiery kick!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and measure out quantities.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add gochujang, grated ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Whisk to blend flavors.
  4. Bring mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
