Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped nuts walnuts or pecans

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and glossy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk until fully combined.
  4. Sift in flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir gently until just incorporated—avoid overmixing for tender bars.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped nuts for delightful texture.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan using a spatula.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center springs back slightly.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
