Method
- If your chuck roast has excessive fat, trim some of it away, but leave some for flavor. Pat the roast dry with paper towels.
- Add the beef chuck roast to the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the top of the roast. Add the freshly ground black pepper and garlic powder if using.
- Place the stick of butter on top of the roast. Arrange the pepperoncini peppers around the roast and pour in the pepperoncini juice.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or on HIGH for 4-5 hours. The meat is ready when it shreds easily with a fork.
- Once cooked, use two forks to shred the meat in the slow cooker, mixing it with the flavorful juices.
- Transfer to a serving platter, making sure to include the delicious sauce and peppers.
