Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of turkey
  • 2 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Powdered sugar optional
  • Fruit preserves or maple syrup optional

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Assemble the sandwich by layering ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese between the bread slices.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat until foaming.
  5. Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.
  6. Place the soaked sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from skillet, rest for 1 minute, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve with jam or syrup.
