Method
- Gather all ingredients and heat a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the frozen peas and just enough water to cover. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until peas are tender.
- Drain any excess water, then stir in the cream (if using) and season with salt and cracked pepper.
- Mash the peas lightly with a potato masher or fork until you reach your desired texture.
- Serve hot alongside cod, fish and chips, or your favorite grilled meats.
