Old-Fashioned Lemonade

A classic lemonade recipe to make all summer long, or anytime life gives you lemons! Just three ingredients needed for this crowd-pleasing pitcher.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 fresh lemons about 1½ cups juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint sprigs or lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Method
 

  1. Roll and slice the lemons, then juice them until you have about 1½ cups of fresh lemon juice.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and the sugar. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely to create a simple syrup.
  3. Transfer the simple syrup to a pitcher. Add the lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
  4. Fill glasses with ice, pour in the lemonade, and garnish with mint sprigs or lemon slices if desired.
  5. Serve immediately for maximum refreshment, or chill in the fridge for up to 2 hours.
