Oven-Baked Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pounds chicken pieces bone-in, skin-on
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Position an oven rack in the center.
  2. Place a 13×9×2-inch baking dish in the hot oven and add the butter or margarine to melt.
  3. While the butter melts, season chicken pieces on all sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. Carefully remove the baking dish, swirl to coat evenly, then arrange chicken skin-side up in a single layer.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oven, let rest 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
