Oven Baked Rice

Baked rice is a foolproof and delicious way to cook rice. In this recipe, jasmine rice is baked with salt, vinegar, and butter for a tasty side dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup jasmine rice such as Mahatma®
  • cups water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter cut into pieces
  • 1 tablespoon white or rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a 2½-quart baking dish with a bit of butter.
  2. Pour the jasmine rice into the dish, then add water, salt, and vinegar. Gently stir to combine.
  3. Distribute the butter pieces evenly over the top of the rice.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and fluff the rice with a fork. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
