Ingredients
  

  • 2 16 ounce cans peaches in heavy syrup
  • 1 15.25 ounce box yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, cold and cut into thin slices
  • ½ cup chopped pecans optional
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and gather all your ingredients.
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Open the canned peaches and pour them with their syrup directly into the baking dish, spreading them evenly.
  4. If using, sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over the peaches for extra flavor.
  5. Evenly distribute the dry cake mix on top of the peaches, covering them completely.
  6. Arrange the thin butter slices evenly across the top of the dry cake mix.
  7. If using, sprinkle chopped pecans on top for a delightful crunch.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
