Ingredients
  

  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1½ to 2 cups confectioners’ sugar sifted
  • Pinch of salt optional

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and let the butter and cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the confectioners’ sugar, half a cup at a time, mixing well between each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  5. If desired, add a pinch of salt and mix to balance the flavors.
  6. Spread the frosting on warm cinnamon rolls right out of the oven for a gooey, irresistible finish.
