Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 recommended for best flavor
  • 1 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley finely chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Romano cheese
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for greasing the baking sheet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, beaten eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Romano cheese, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing as this can make your meatballs tough.
  4. Shape the mixture into 1½-inch meatballs (about 2 tablespoons each) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and are nicely browned on the outside.
  6. For extra browning, you can broil them for the final 2 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
