Method
- Examine your ear of corn and remove any loose, dry outer husks, but keep the main green husks intact.
- Rinse the corn under cool water briefly to add moisture to the husk.
- Wrap the corn completely in a paper towel.
- Place the wrapped corn on a microwave-safe plate.
- Microwave on high power for 4 minutes (for one ear of corn).
- Using an oven mitt, carefully remove the hot corn from the microwave.
- Let the corn rest for 2 minutes - this allows the steam to finish cooking the kernels.
- Holding the corn by the stalk end, cut off about 1 inch from the other end.
- Grip the top of the husks and shake - the corn should slide out completely clean, leaving the silk behind!
- Season with butter, salt, and pepper as desired and enjoy immediately.
