Perfect Microwave Corn on the Cob

You can microwave corn on the cob easily and save on stove or grill space. Fresh summer sweet corn, ready in minutes with this no-nonsense recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ear fresh corn unhusked
  • Optional toppings: butter salt, pepper, herbs

Method
 

  1. Leave the corn in its husk. The husk acts as a natural steamer and helps the corn cook evenly.
  2. Place the unhusked ear of corn directly in the microwave. No plate needed!
  3. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes for one ear. (Add about 2 minutes per additional ear if cooking multiple.)
  4. Carefully remove the hot corn using a kitchen towel or oven mitt.
  5. Let the corn cool for 1-2 minutes, then cut off about 1 inch from the bottom (stalk end) of the cob.
  6. Hold the corn by the uncut end (the silk tassel end) and squeeze/shake. The corn will slide right out of the husk, completely silk-free!
  7. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy immediately.
