Method
- Place molasses, honey, shortening, and margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat; stir until well combined.
- In a large bowl, beat granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy; gradually mix in the syrup mixture.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, spices, and salt; stir into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Cover and chill the dough for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until tops are set; cool on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar.
