Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Baking spray for pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and coat an 8×8-inch baking pan with baking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until glossy.
  3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Gently fold in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined—don’t overmix!
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into 16 squares.
