- Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped shallot and cook until golden, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the red wine and simmer until reduced by half, approximately 8 minutes.
- Stir in the beef broth and continue to reduce until the sauce coats the back of a spoon, about 5 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and swirl in the unsalted butter until glossy.
- Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm drizzled over your favorite cut of steak.
