Method
- Gather all ingredients. Pat the duck dry with paper towels and season inside and out with salt and pepper. Let it rest for 10 minutes at room temperature.
- Combine paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub the spice blend evenly over the duck’s skin.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan. Roast for 1 hour, basting every 20 minutes with melted butter.
- Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and roast for an additional 10 minutes until the skin is deeply golden. Remove from oven and let rest for 10–15 minutes before carving.
