- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and ½ cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
- Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are just set and the bottoms are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then gently roll in powdered sugar.
- Transfer to a wire rack and once cooled, roll again in powdered sugar for an extra snowy finish.
