Ingredients

  • 3 pounds baby back ribs trimmed
  • 1 cup your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or green onions

Method

  1. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the spice blend all over the ribs to build a flavorful crust.
  2. Coil the ribs inside the slow cooker. If needed, cut the rack into sections to fit snugly.
  3. Pour the barbecue sauce over the ribs, ensuring every crevice is coated for maximum flavor.
  4. Cover and cook on the low setting for 4–5 hours, or until ribs are tender and easily pull away from the bone.
  5. Transfer ribs to a baking sheet, brush with extra sauce, and broil for 3–4 minutes until the sauce bubbles and caramelizes (optional).
  6. Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes, slice between bones, garnish with parsley or green onions, and serve.
