This crockpot sausage recipe is easily made with fresh Italian sausage simmered in the slow cooker with prepared pasta sauce, bell pepper, and onion.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 mild Italian sausage links 4 oz each
  • 24 oz jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 medium green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Method
 

  1. Gather and prep ingredients: slice peppers and onion, mince garlic.
  2. Optional: In a skillet over medium heat, sear sausage links for 2–3 minutes per side to lock in extra flavor.
  3. Transfer sausages to the slow cooker; add sliced vegetables and garlic.
  4. Pour pasta sauce over the sausage and veggies, stirring gently to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours (or HIGH for 3–4 hours) until sausages are fully cooked and vegetables are tender.
  6. Season with salt and pepper; garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
