Ingredients
Method
- Gather all your ingredients and prepare the ginger by peeling and thinly slicing it. Thinner slices will release more flavor.
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
- Add the sliced ginger to the boiling water, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the ginger flavor to infuse into the water.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the ginger steep for an additional 2 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a pitcher or directly into mugs to remove the ginger pieces.
- Add honey while the tea is still hot, stirring until completely dissolved.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice into the tea and stir to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness with additional honey if desired.
- Serve immediately while hot, garnished with a slice of lemon or a small piece of ginger if desired.
